Eight men were seen carrying a huge 20-foot-long python that was found lurking in a village pond in Dharamjuli Khaira Gran, Assam.

Footage captured by Forest Officer Mrinmoy Hazarikafrom on November 14 shows the forest officials releasing the large serpent into the Barnadi Wildlife Sanctuary.

According to the officials, the snake measured around 20 feet long and weighed over 100kg.

A massive python was rescued from a village pond in northeastern India's Assam.

This incident happened in Dharamjuli Khaira Grant village on November 14.

Visuals showed officials of the forest department carrying the massive snake after it was rescued. The snake was so huge that it had to take a number of the Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB) as well as forest department officials to lift it up and carry it. The mouth of the snake was also held tightly by one of these officials so that it could pose no threat to them as they took it away for freeing it in the wild. Upon arriving at the Barnadi Wildlife Sanctuary, the snake was released. This rescue operation was conducted by the SSB officers along with forest department officials of the Dhansiri Division, Udalguri district.

According to a report, the snake is around 20 feet long and weighs over 100 kgs (220.462 lbs) and villagers informed the officials as soon as they spotted it.
