Employees evacuated a cafeteria that was flooded from a leak during a storm in Thailand.

The workers were having lunch in the dining area when water began gushing through the walls, swamping the floor of the canteen in Bangkok on October 19.

Staff left to finish their meals elsewhere. They said rainwater accumulated from the roof may have cascaded into the building.

Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are in their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon leading to widespread flash floods.

Bangkok and large parts of the north and northeast of the country have been swamped with flash floods from tropical thunderstorms.
