According to the man, heavy rain caused a flood to flood his village. Thousands of water hyacinths followed the water flow into the house and surrounded the man's house. The water hyacinths flooded in front of the house, causing people to try to use trees to push the water hyacinths away.

Historic floods have severely affected the Hue area, in Central Vietnam. Floodwaters rose nearly 2 meters high, affecting thousands of houses. This is the biggest flood in the past 10 years in this area.
