Cute piglet with two faces fascinates locals in the Philippines
A mutant piglet with two faces fascinated locals when it was born in the Philippines.
The animal - with two noses, two mouths, but only three eyes and two ears - was the seventh to emerge from a litter born to a healthy breeder at a farm in Bukidnon province in the early morning of November 13.
It was given special care by its owner Frances Lloyd Magno by feeding it with a milk bottle, while neighbours took turns watching it like a newborn baby.
Footage shows the piglet wriggling on the hands of a grandmother as it was being shown off to neighbours in the street.
Neighbour Ruby Librado said: ‘The mother pig was healthy. It was the first time we have seen such a thing. My friend is very lucky to have such a rare pig.'
Two-headedness in polycephaly is a rare congenital condition that can affect humans and animals. It is caused by a failure of the embryo to split into two separate individuals during development.
