This is the heartwarming moment a kind security guard braved heavy rains to rescue a stray puppy trapped in a storm.

Thitisan Ton had been filming the downpour to send to his girlfriend when he noticed the pooch trying to cross a flood outside his post in Phitsanulok, Thailand, on May 11.

Video shows the Good Samaritan jogging over to pick up the dog and bring it inside the building. He bundled it up in a blanket he had been keeping in his bag.

The animal lover, who also keeps several pet cats and dogs at his home, said: 'At that time, I was about to take a video of the rain that was about to fall and send it to my girlfriend to watch. But then I saw a dog running towards the front gate, so I set up a camera so I could show my girlfriend that I went out to help a dog getting wet in the rain.'
