A powerful windstorm with winds of up to 100kmh swept through the city of Thessaloniki in Greece, causing significant damage as it did so.

Dozens of trees were uprooted, falling onto vehicles and power lines, while the wind tore off the roof of a petrol station, injuring one woman.

Footage filmed on Sunday 19 November shows firefighters using hoists to lift a tree uprooted by the wind and fallen onto power lines.

The video also shows a destroyed air dome basketball court. Wind had wrecked the inflatable roof, which collapsed into the court.

A young person named Giorgos said on camera (in Greek): "The wind was blowing strongly from the southwest and broke the air dome. I didn't expect something like this to happen, but the wind was extreme. The force of nature is sometimes unpredictable. I came this morning and saw it and because I come here every day. I'm sad but I believe they will rebuild the stadium."
