Supporters of right-wing libertarian presidential candidate Javier Milei took to the streets to celebrate his win in Argentina's presidential election on Sunday 19 November.

Supporters immediately took to the streets around the Argentinian capital's Obelisco de Buenos Aires monument, for a celebration that ran well into Monday, when this video was filmed.

The country opted for an outsider with radical views to address economic challenges marked by triple-digit inflation, an impending recession, and increasing poverty.

The famously potty-mouthed Milei capitalised on voter dissatisfaction with the political mainstream and won by a bigger margin than anticipated, getting approximately 56% of the vote.

His rival, Economy Minister Sergio Massa, won just over 44%.
