In a decisive operation, soldiers from the 36th Division of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) engaged in close-quarter battles with the 'Zaytun' Battalion, a key unit of the Hamas terrorist organization in Gaza City. The Golani Brigade spearheaded the initial assault, confronting terrorists deeply entrenched in civilian areas, including residential neighborhoods, hospitals, schools, and kindergartens.

The 188th Brigade took control of strategic targets, dismantling the command center of the Gaza City Brigade and the 'Zaytun' Battalion's central headquarters. Discoveries included weapons caches, a rocket production laboratory, explosives, and a tunnel shaft inside a mosque.

The Bislamach Brigade destroyed military targets, including an Islamic Jihad weapons production post, tunnel shafts, and seized intelligence material. Despite facing an enemy using civilian infrastructure as a shield, the soldiers, comprising Golani, 188th, and Bislamach Brigades, demonstrated exceptional cooperation. Commanding Officer BG Dado Bar Kalifa emphasized the commitment to achieving all goals and protecting home turf through ongoing operations.
