Superstitious locals offered 'Doraemon' dolls for good luck at a shrine in Bangkok, Thailand.

Footage shows the altar lined with plushies of the beloved Japanese robot cat near the Ruenton Restaurant at Montien Hotel Surawong in the capital city. A tree next to the shrine was also decorated with Doraemon stuffed toys tied to its trunk.

A guard working in the area told local media that the shrine had previously been feted by devotees with various toys, hoping the offerings would attract good fortune.

He said that around three years ago, a local who had left a Doraemon doll reportedly won the lottery, prompting others to follow suit and offer Doraemon paraphernalia.

Monks would later collect the toys to be donated to children.

Doraemon is a robotic cat sent from the future to aid a young boy named Nobita with his everyday problems. The series revolves around their adventures and the use of Doraemon's futuristic gadgets to solve various dilemmas.
