Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Commercial Crimes Division, Organized Crime Retail Taskforce (ORCT), are actively investigating a robbery involving a flash mob that targeted the Nike Store at "Freedom Plaza," 9801 South Alameda Street. On November 19, 2023, at 5:50 p.m., a group of 17 suspects arrived in five vehicles, rushing into the store with trash bags and faces concealed by medical masks. The flash mob, comprised of both male and female suspects, utilized their numerical advantage to intimidate store employees, preventing interference as they swiftly pilfered merchandise, including shoes and clothing worth $12,000.

Witnesses described all suspects as appearing Black and ranging in age from 15 to 20 years old. The suspects fled in different vehicles, including an unknown year 4-door tan Infiniti, an unknown year gray KIA SUV, an unknown year white Honda, an unknown year 4-door KIA, and an unknown year black Audi. One suspect wore a distinctive hooded sweatshirt bearing the logo "Ritual of the Spirit" with an image of a bonsai tree. LAPD urges anyone with information to come forward for the identification of the perpetrators.
