"Hamas and Israel agreed on a temporary pause in fighting to enable the release of 50 female and children Israeli hostages held by Hamas, in exchange for Palestinian female and children (teen) prisoners held in Israeli jails. This agreement was announced by Qatar as a mediator between the two parties in a joint effort with Egypt and the U.S.
The Israeli Prime Minister's office announced that Hamas would release at least 50 Israeli hostages in the four-day truce, and for every 10 (more) hostages released, the pause would be extended by a day.
Hamas released a statement, saying they will release 50 Israeli women and children, in exchange for 150 Palestinian women and children (teens) in Israeli military jails."

"On Wednesday, the Israeli government announced the cabinet decision on the agreement to secure the release of roughly 50 hostages among the 240 who were abducted into the Gaza Strip by Hamas on October 7. The hostages are expected to be released in small groups in the upcoming four days, and during this period there will be a ceasefire in the fighting. However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated that Israel will continue the war until all the goals are achieved, including eliminating Hamas, returning all the hostages and assuring that Gaza will no longer threaten Israel."

"On Wednesday, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said that China welcomes the temporary ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, and hopes that it will help alleviate the humanitarian crisis and promote conflict de-escalation and ease tensions.
The Arab League secretary-general and the Jordan Foreign Ministry also welcomed the truce."

According to an announcement by Israel's
national security advisor late Wednesday,

the deal for the release of hostages in Gaza in exchange for
a temporary truce has been postponed until Friday at the earliest
