In a delightful turn of events at the Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York, a love story unfolded as Kimberly and Margaret, visiting from Houston, Texas, got engaged. The couple's joyous moment was captured amid the festive atmosphere, becoming a highlight of the iconic parade.

A special shout-out goes to Chase from @pawpatrol for ensuring the security of this heartwarming occasion. The New York Police Department Ceremonial Unit (@NYPDCeremonial) added a musical touch, enhancing the magical atmosphere surrounding the couple's special moment.

Congratulations to Kimberly and Margaret, and may their engagement be the beginning of a beautiful and love-filled journey ahead! In a bold act of protest, two supporters of the "Just Stop Oil" movement disrupted a Thanksgiving service at St. Paul's Cathedral in London. Sue Parfitt, 81, an Anglican priest, and Judy Bruce, 83, a biology teacher, demanded an immediate cessation of future licenses and consents for fossil fuel exploration in the UK.

During the service, the activists held a sign asking, 'Will our children thank us?' and 'Just Stop Oil.' Despite the interruption, Reverend Jennifer Mills-Knutsen acknowledged the interconnectedness of protest and praise. Over 20 City of London police officers were present as security escorted the disruptors out of the cathedral.

Parfitt and Bruce, both in their eighties, expressed concern about the future and criticized governments for planning to increase oil and gas production, contrary to earlier carbon reduction pledges. They emphasized the need for collective action to address climate change and denounced the imprisonment of peaceful protesters. The "Just Stop Oil" movement has seen over 600 arrests since October 30th, with 10 supporters currently in prison.

In a global context, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres recently warned of an impending climate crisis, urging a shift away from fossil fuels. The protest aligns with a broader movement against new oil and gas projects, calling for urgent action to curb environmental degradation.
