This is the heart-stopping moment a lorry overturned and stopped inches from an oncoming car.

Dashcam video shows the white truck spinning out of control and swerving into the adjacent lane of a road in Samut Prakan province, Thailand, on November 1.

The delivery vehicle fell on its side and crashed into the guardrails in front of roadside trees.

There were no serious injuries reported and the driver emerged from truck unharmed. The oncoming car was also not damaged and the driver was fine.

The driver said: 'It happened so fast. I stopped my car as soon as I saw the truck losing control in front of me. If I had not been concentrating, the truck would have landed on my car and crushed me.'

Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.

However, a lack of road safety education in schools along with notoriously easy driving tests, police failures to enforce road laws, and chronic under-investment in infrastructure, all appear to hamper the efforts.
