"I think China has been quite consistent when it comes to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. China has been consistent in calling for a two-state solution, Israel and Palestine. China hosted a foreign ministers meeting in Beijing. So we can see that these initiatives are aimed at seeking solutions. China, as a peacemaker, there is no doubt about that, and we have seen that peaceful development is what should be the guiding mantra in our world today.
It is not a matter of favoring one side over the other, it is a matter of justice, and China's calling for a two-state solution as the first step to ensuring that there's lasting peace in the Middle East. We need of course to have a total lay-down of arms and negotiating on the table."
