People looted shops, including a local Foot Locker, during a riot in Dublin, Ireland, Thursday 23 November.

The chaos followed a knife attack outside a primary school earlier in the day in which four people, a woman in her 30s and three young children, were injured.

In the hours after the attack, protesters gathered near the scene of the incident and began attacking police officers, setting fire to vehicles and a tram.

Gardaí, the national police and security service, said the unrest was driven by a "lunatic, hooligan faction driven by a far-right ideology."
