Thailand lights up for Loy Krathong, a major festival of water and light
On the full moon of the twelfth lunar month, Thais and several other countries ask for forgiveness to Ganga, Goddess of Water. Small floating containers are released into rivers and canals. Large krathongs are situated by local authorities.
It's also a festival of light, with numerous lanterns adorning buildings and bridges.
Loy Krathong falls on 27 November 2023.
