If cats have superheros then these Indonesian firefighters are surely feline-famous.

Eight clearly cat-loving firefighters in Padang, Indonesia, rescued a moggy trapped in a tight spot on the fourth floor of Padang State University's laboratory building on Saturday 25 November.

The head of the fire department, Sutan Hendra, said, "We received a report from one of the officials who saw a cat that was not doing anything in a hole in a high-rise laboratory building, and we rescued it using a rope that lowered an officer until the cat could be rescued."

As the video showed, the cat was rather spooked by the high-altitude rescue and initially fought with its saviour before being evacuated.

The whole process took 30 minutes, Mr Hendra said, and the team gave the cat a drink until it calmed down before they released it.

Using a system of one firefighter with an alternating rope, he tried to quickly retrieve the poor cat which was in a hole in the tall building.

The cat evacuation process took 30 minutes and we gave the rescued cat a drink until it calmed down and then released it again.

"The process is to ensure that the officers who are deployed are safe enough to crawl along the wall with a rope, and the process takes approximately 30 minutes, until we get under the cat, we relieve stress by giving it a drink and then we release it again,". said Sutan Hendra.
