Currently, more and more Indonesian people are participating in boycotting a number of companies or brands originating from and or supporting Israel which considered committing genocide against Palestinians. One of them is the famous coffee brand Starbucks Indonesia. The largest coffee brand in the world from the United States (US) was really affected by the Hamas-Israel war. This is because Starbucks is said to support Israel.

It was previously known that the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) had issued a haram fatwa on products deemed to provide direct or indirect support for Israeli aggression against Palestinians or parties who support Israel. This is stated in MUI Fatwa Number 84 of 2023 which consists of nine pages.

The MUI fatwa regarding the 'Law on Support for Palestine' was adopted in Jakarta on Wednesday, November 8 2023. And signed by the Chairman of the MUI, KH Juneid, and the Secretary of the MUI, KH Miftahul Huda LC.
