People in the Gaza Strip are struggling to resume temporary normal life during the 4-day humanitarian truce between Hamas and Israel that took effect on Friday.
Suffering from the agony brought by displacement, shortage of daily necessities and fuels, Gazans are longing for lasting peace to tide over the upcoming winter chill.

"We have not had gas here for about 45 days. We have no gas, no water, and no electricity. We have to chop tree branches to light fire, and if we are lucky enough to get flour, then we would bake bread for my children.
As you can see, many here are suffering and standing in long queues for a small amount of gas."

"We are displaced from the northern part of Gaza to the south here. We are trying to save the gas use so that we can cook more food for the family."

The Israeli attack harmed me and worsened my financial situation because I have not received my salary until now. Besides my 10-member family, there are about 50 other displaced people currently living in my house.
I hope that this truce would last longer, so that peace and calm can be retained in the region."
