A brake-checking motorist felt the full wrath of karma as they were instantly pulled over by police officers on a highway in Washington, US.

Footage recorded by a passenger shows a sedan in front performing a sudden brake check.

Officers in an unmarked police vehicle spotted the incident and immediately sprung into action and pulled the brake-checking motorist over much to the delight of the filmer.

They told Newsflare: "After merging on the highway together, a sedan with an illegal off-road lightbar turned on driving close behind the camera vehicle.

"After a bit of driving slowly to get the sedan to go around them, the camera car changed lanes to let the other car around, after which it got back behind and gave it a quick flash to tell them to turn off their lightbar.

"Enraged by this the sedan began brakechecking the camera car aggressively at which point the camera began recording.

"The sedan once again hit the brakes aggressively but thankfully the camera car noticed an unmarked police officer driving behind them and waved them around toward the sedan in question.

"The officer then manoeuvred around and positioned behind the sedan to monitor the situation. At this point they drove along for half a minute or so before the sedan decided to brake check the officer this time, finally giving them a reason to light them up and pull them over, a moment of true vindication and instant karma!

"As the camera car drives by you can clearly see the sedan's lightbar still turned on in front."
