A baby luckily survived unscathed as their stroller was crushed by falling debris during an apartment renovation in southern China.

Terrifying CCTV footage filmed in the city of Huizhou in Guangdong Province on November 24, shows an object suddenly falling down from a building and striking a stroller pushed by a woman.

The object, which turned out to be a piece of aluminium alloy railing from a balcony, smashed the stroller's canopy, prompting the mother to frantically check on her child.

The property management of the complex later revealed that the incident was the result of a mishap during renovation works at a 25th-floor apartment. A worker's mistake led to the railing's fall.

The owner of the apartment has since covered the medical check-up costs for the child.

The property manager stated that future renovation projects will be required to implement safety measures such as protective netting.

Thankfully, the community associated with the complex reported that the child, having been medically evaluated, suffered no serious harm.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
