Immigration minister Robert Jenrick and shadow science secretary Peter Kyle speak to people attending a march against antisemitism in central London.

Addressing crowds in at a rally in Parliament Square, Mr Kyle spoke about Labour's "shameful" period under former leader Jeremy Corbyn, when the party was accused of failing to do enough to combat antisemitism.

Mr Corbyn had the Labour whip in Parliament removed in October 2020 over his response to the equalities watchdog report on antisemitism in the party at the time.

He sits as an Independent MP but remains a Labour member.

Mr Kyle said: "After the most shameful period in my party's history, I am enormously proud of the leadership that Keir Starmer has shown in combating antisemitism and standing up for the British Jewish community.

"But we cannot escape, and we must not ignore, the tsunami of antisemitism that has hit our country since October 7. Today, more than at any other time, we stand with the Jewish people of Great Britain. We are as one, and we are united."

Mr Jenrick said: "A Britain where British people are afraid because of their religion or because of their origin is not Britain.

"Tonight we stand against antisemitism. And tomorrow, and the day after, in each and every one of our lives, we will fight antisemitism – and we will build a bigger and better country that we can all be proud of."
