This is the spectacular moment a huge whale shark was seen filter-feeding while swimming alongside tourists on a beach in the Philippines.

Amazed onlooker Chatty Malinao-Montizo captured the stunning marine animal feeding up close in Oslob, Cebu City, the Philippines, on November 20.

The footage shows the gentle creature opening its wide mouth to suck in water, filtering it to capture plankton and other microscopic marine life beneath the water's surface.

Fish swim around in the clear water, and another whale shark can be seen swimming with the tourists.

Whale sharks are the largest fish in the world, reaching up to 60 feet in length. They feed on tiny plankton and other small marine organisms by swimming with their mouths open. These gentle giants are known to pose no threat to humans.
