A Chinese Halloween celebration featured a character from the 'Empresses in the Palace' series.

Footage shows a woman cosplaying as the concubine An Lingrong wearing a traditional silk dress with headgear and waving a handkerchief to people in Shanghai province, China, on October 30.

She had a female assistant, also wearing a period costume, holding an umbrella over her head while she sat on a cart being pulled across the street by a man.

Empresses in the Palace, also known as Zhen Huan Zhuan, is a Chinese historical drama television series based on the novel of the same name by Liu Lianzi. It stars Sun Li as Zhen Huan, an intelligent and ambitious young woman who enters the Forbidden City as a concubine to the Yongzheng Emperor.
