Customs police in Turkey seize a substantial cocaine stash valued at USD 5.3 million from the Liberian-flagged dry cargo ship, Berge Torre, anchored off the coast of Adana.

The officers discover nearly 52 kilograms of cocaine concealed in 45 parcels, believed to have been loaded during a stop in Puerto Bolivar, Colombia.

Video footage from the November 12 raid captures police divers searching the ship's hull and anchor chain in Iskenderun Bay. The operation results in the retrieval of a black plastic bin liner containing the illicit substance. The Berge Torre, operated by Berge Bulk, had departed Colombia on October 19. The ship's captain and 25 crew members are detained for questioning.

Turkey's Minister of Internal Affairs, Ali Yerlikaya, issues a warning to traffickers, emphasizing the country's commitment to combating drug trafficking, stating, "Our efforts against illicit substance traffickers across the country will continue to escalate. We maintain vigilant monitoring of our ports."
