People who had evacuated northern Gaza spoke about their experiences on Sunday 26 November.

Video shot at Netzarim, a former Israeli checkpoint on the main north-south Gaza highway, showed aid trucks arriving even as Gazans continue to head south.

Israel has repeatedly told people to leave northern Gaza as it continues its fight against Hamas.

Asked about their recent experiences, people described fear and a desperate desire for the war to end.

Speaker 1
02:54-03:08
You want me to tell you about the road? The road is so hard, we are scared. We didn't do anything, but we are scared. When you see the soldiers, you get scared.

03:11-03:14
We call for the end of this war because we are so tired.

03:14-03:34
We left our homes and our families and went to the unknown. We don't know where to go, where to eat, where to drink. It's enough. God help us. My name is Ibrahim.

Speaker 2
03:36-04:08
The situation is so hard, you can't imagine it. We were abandoned from our homes and they destroyed us. We didn't see this situation in 1948. It's so hard.
This is not a life. It's so difficult. The military barrier is too bad.

Speaker 3
04:09-04:40
Questioner: Please tell about the way from Gaza.
Speaker: I am from Gaza-Tal-Alhawa. We left the house after it was destroyed, with my four children and my mother and after the truce I will move from Rafah. The road is so difficult and we should walk with my paralyzed mother. I really struggle with that.

04:41-05:00
Questioner: Where is your mother now?
Speaker: She is at the checkpoint. I wish safety for all people. I wish mercy for martyrs and recovery for the wounded. I wish we could rebuild Gaza with the help of our men and youth.

05:01-05:34
Questioner: How was the situation in Tal-Alhawa?
Speaker: It was just like the fire, when I went there, I really couldn't recognize the place because of the huge destruction. It's just like there was an earthquake. All places were fired, not just Tal-Alhawa. In these two days I walked through the streets of Gaza, and it was so harmful. My name is Om Mohammed.

Speaker 4
05:35-06:54
Speaker: I have lost all my sons, nineteen members of the family are gone.
Questioner: How do you find the road?
Speaker: We were so tired, they destroyed the house above us. I wish I was dead with them.
Questioner: Where will you go?
Speaker: I don't know where to go.
Questioner: Is there someone you know in the South?
Speaker: I have nobody there. All our family has gone, no one is left. My last name is Shtewy. I am so tired, guide me, please.
