Citizens protest against the construction of a dam at risk of earthquake
Footage of a protest against the construction of a dam has emerged from Chile.
The video filmed in Coyhaique, Patagonia, shows how citizens took to the streets to call for the abolition of the Government’s environment resolution that allows the construction of a water reservoir in the area.
According to local organisations, workers will be put in danger because the area sits on a fault line meaning there’s a high risk of an earthquake.
There are also concerns the construction of the dam will cause serious harm to the environment.
