Russia has said that its artillery has fired at Ukrainian positions near Zaporizhzhia. T

he images show Russian soldiers loading shells into a Msta-B howitzer and repeatedly opening fire, with the images then cutting to explosions, reportedly on the Ukrainian positions, as the footage ends.

The images were obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Thursday, November 30, along with a statement claiming: 'Artillery crews of Msta-B howitzers of the Guards Combined Arms Army of the Southern Group of Forces destroyed the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Zaporizhzhia direction.'

The Russian MoD added: 'During the fire destruction of identified targets, crews of the group's 152-mm Msta-B howitzers disrupted the next rotation of Ukrainian Armed Forces units in the Zaporizhzhia direction of a special military operation in the area of the Rabotino settlement.

'Combat work is carried out with high-explosive fragmentation and high-precision guided artillery ammunition, which destroy the enemy at distant approaches and prevent the enemy from transferring reserves to the line of combat contact.

'After live firing, artillery soldiers perform a manoeuvre to change firing positions and replenish ammunition.

'Adjustment of artillery fire and control of hitting targets is carried out using reconnaissance and surveillance systems, as well as crews of unmanned aerial vehicles, which makes it possible to inflict maximum damage on armoured vehicles and manpower of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.'
