An immersive experience recreates a historic rescue in Antarctica

Antarctica: a legacy of sovereignty, an immersive experience that commemorates the 120th anniversary of the rescue of Jose Maria Sobral, the first Argentine who did science in Antarctica Argentina, will be inaugurated next Thursday at the Kirchner Cultural Center (CCK).
It is the commemoration of the rescue of the Swedish expedition led by Otto Nordenskjold, which included Jose Maria Sobral, the first Argentine who did science in the Argentine Antarctic, informed the Ministry of Culture, which is organizing the activity together with the National Direction of the Antarctic-Argentine Antarctic Institute, of the Secretariat of Malvinas, Antarctica and South Atlantic of the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Based on the rescue carried out by the Argentine State, under the command of Lieutenant Julian Irizar, in the corvette ARA Uruguay, an immersive documentary experience was created that traces the history of the group of Argentine expedition members during their voyage to Cerro Nevado Island in the 2022-2023 Antarctic Summer Campaign.
