Xiong'an New Area, located about 100 km away from Beijing,
has been designed to relieve Beijing of functions 
nonessential to its role as China's capital

Xiong'an has entered a phase of
advancing large-scale construction

292 key projects have been carried out,
covering an area of nearly 178 square km

Many well-known schools and educational groups
from Beijing have set up branches here

Management teams have been sent here to ensure
that high-quality education is delivered at schools in Xiong'an

According to the development plan,
70% of Xiong'an New Area will be covered by water or trees

The city has afforested 472,000 mu (about 31,467 hectares) of land,
and has created a green area of 732,000 mu (about 48,800 hectares)

Its forest coverage rate has 
grown to 34.6%
