A Spanish climate change expert has recently hailed China's efforts on the renewable energy transition and its role in fighting climate change.
Jordi Sole made such remarks in an interview regarding the ongoing 28th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).

"I'm sure that the Chinese government is very aware that reaching the maximum production of fossil fuels requires finding alternative energy sources, and it is taking steps in this direction, as can be seen from its recent policies and actions.
The expert also noted that major economies are the main emitters of greenhouse gases and any action they take toward transitioning to renewable energy could have significant impacts.
