Gambian climate campaigner Omar Danso said he is “so disappointed” in the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's climate pledges at a Cop28 protest, organised by The Big Shift calling for an end to fossil fuel finance.

The protest, organised by campaigners from the global south, called on the world's biggest public development banks to shift their finance out of fossil fuels & into sustainable, renewable energy.

Campaigners from countries around the world, including South Africa, India and Pakistan, spoke to passers by, with some saying the loss and damage pledges made by countries in the global north were not sufficient in solving the climate crisis.
