The beginning of snow clearing in Ambleside Village , Cumbria, U.K.
Many vehicles and people were stranded in the snow. The pavements, driveways , back lanes and minor roads are full of deep snow. Pedestrians, particularly older people are walking on the roadside rather than on dangerous slippery surfaces.
Many local residents are out clearing pavements and digging their cars out of the snow.
