Finally! The local snow-shifting service comes to the rescue in Ambleside!
Ambleside Village and the surrounding area in Cumbria had many centimetres of snow on Saturday. Local residents and hundreds of visitors were caught out. It was snow mayhem. The main roads were ploughed and gritted yesterday, but it wasn’t until this afternoon that the back roads and lanes were cleared by local council employees. The driver of this digger was a cheery chap and gave me a friendly wave!
