This is the adorable moment two large bears were seen taking the easy route - walking through a snow-covered forest by using the road and paying little attention to passing vehicles.

The scene was captured by a motorist while driving up a mountain road in Hemu, Xinjiang Province, in north-western China, on November 30.

Phone footage shows the two bears in the fresh, white snow, with one of them even sitting on its bottom and raising its hind leg in the air as if it had cold feet.

Both briefly paused and stared at the driver filming as if they had been caught doing something naughty before he slowly moved on, using the road so they did not have to wade through the deep snow in the nearby forest.

The filmer said: 'The bears in Altay have come out to welcome guests.'

The brown bear (Ursus arctos) is a large mammal belonging to the family Ursidae. It is widely distributed across various ecosystems in North America, Europe, and Asia.

Brown bears are known for their distinctive hump on the shoulders, a concave face, and long claws. They exhibit a wide range of coat colours, including shades of brown, black, blonde, and even white in some populations.

These omnivorous creatures have a diverse diet, consuming plants, berries, insects, fish, and occasionally small mammals.
