Police brave snowstorm to rescue stranded tourists in northwest China
Police officers braved the snowstorm to rescue stranded tourists in northwest China.
The video was filmed at Sayram Lake Scenic Area in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on December 4.
A tourist vehicle became hopelessly mired in deep snow, unable to extricate itself due to the overwhelming snowdrifts.
Responding swiftly, the local police embarked on a challenging rescue operation. The relentless snowstorm, further intensified by the strong winds, posed significant difficulties for the rescue efforts.
However, the officers, drawing upon their extensive experience in emergencies, ingeniously cleared the snow beneath the vehicle and utilised a police car to tow it.
Their persistent efforts eventually paid off, leading to the successful liberation of the stranded vehicle.
Approximately 20 minutes later, around 11:40 AM, another emergency occurred within the same area. At the Jin Hua Zi Hui attraction of Sai Li Mu Lake scenic area, a tourist bus encountered perilous conditions. The bus's left front wheel slipped into the snow-covered roadside due to the icy surface.
The Song Shu Tou Public Security Patrol team, upon discovering the situation, promptly evacuated all 16 passengers to a safe location using their police vehicle. They also provided emotional support to the distressed tourists.
The section leader, Hua Lei, was immediately informed of the incident and wasted no time in coordinating the deployment of a nearby snowplough. Leading the rescue team herself, they worked tirelessly for more than an hour. Through their concerted efforts, the bus was eventually freed from its predicament.
The driver and passengers expressed profound gratitude as they watched their vehicle being rescued, a testament to the dedication and skill of the rescue team.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
