It is the seventh year that 27-year-old Fahad Kabeer has been studying traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) at Jiangxi University of Chinese Medicine, the only university in east China's Jiangxi Province that provides TCM education for international students.
At the just-concluded 2023 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Forum on Traditional Medicine, Kabeer explored how modern technology helps traditional medicine become more intelligent.

"The most attractive thing that I am going to experience is that if AI doctor of TCM can diagnose here, but for me, it's super exciting, because I am studying traditional Chinese medicine.

"So in Chinese medicine, the pulse is very important, because from the pulse reading, most of the diseases can be diagnosed and here in this AI system, we can read all the information, all the blood flow here in this AI system, isn't it amazing?
So after the diagnosis from the AI diagnostic machine, we are going to choose the selected herbal medicine that the doctor is going to prescribe us. And for me, it's a wonderful experience that I am going to witness where the herbal medicine is growing, that I am going to use after the prescription from the doctor."
After the prescription is issued, it only takes 20 seconds for the smart devices to dispense medicines, and the auto-decoction machine would help the patients in decocting the herbal medicines in an efficient and scientific manner, ensuring a better curative effect.
