Footage has emerged from China of water freezing into ice crystals on a fence by Lake Tai, forming subtly beautiful scenes.

The video, captured in Jiangsu Province last Sunday, shows the ice attached to the fence by the lake spiking out in interesting shapes.

According to local reports, the longest icicle was 64cm.
