STORYLINE:

Since the Israel-Hamas conflict began on Oct. 7, the Lebanese-Israeli border has seen intensifying exchanges of fire between Israel and Lebanese armed group Hezbollah.

In a recent round of conflicts, Hezbollah targeted several Israeli posts and the Israeli army bombed several border towns in southern Lebanon, including Tayr Harfa and al-Jibain.

Despite the conflicts, villagers from al-Jibain refused to leave their land.

SOUNDBITE 1 (Arabic): KHADIJA FARHAT, Villager
"Thank God, we have everything and Israel is away from us and will not be able to come here. We are stronger than Israel. We will not leave our village and nothing will happen with God's will. May God protect the resistance."

SOUNDBITE 2 (Arabic): ALI HASSOUN, Farmer
"We are staying here because we have goats that we cannot leave alone. There are many shepherds here with many goats and sheep. If we die, then it is for the redemption of the resistance. You know we are not better than the people of Gaza".

A week-long cease-fire between Hamas and Israel had brought temporary peace to the region but clashes renewed in south Lebanon after the truce ended.
