Police stop man flying powered paraglider over railway in China
Police officers from the Jinhe Station Police Station of the Huaihua Railway Public Security Bureau in Hunan Province noticed two men flying powered paragliders over the railway along the Jinhe Station route on December 5. The police promptly intervened to halt their flight activities.
Subsequently, the two powered paraglider pilots were summoned to the police station. After investigation, it was revealed that Zhu, the person in charge, had hired two individuals, Du and Xu, to pilot powered paragliders for promotional purposes related to an exposition in the airspace above Jinhe Town.
Before the activity, none of the three had applied for permits or reported to the relevant authorities. They flew over the train station and railway tracks without authorization, posing a safety hazard.
Following the regulations of the "Railway Safety Management Regulations," railway police imposed corresponding administrative penalties on Zhu, Du, and Xu.

The overhead catenary of the electrified railway has a high voltage of 27,000 volts. Once touched, it not only endangers the safety of the pilots but also seriously affects railway transportation safety.
Similarly, according to the relevant provisions of the "Railway Safety Management Regulations," the release of kites, balloons, and other low-flying objects within a 500-meter range on both sides of the railway power line is strictly prohibited.
