An escaped kangaroo was captured by police in the UK.

The animal nicknamed Roo Emy May fled its enclosure at a zoo and had been missing for three days until officers found and rescued it in Durham on December 4.

Body cam footage shows three policemen trying to calm Roo Emy May so they could secure it and safely transport it back to its caretakers.

Roo Emy May struggled while the rope was being tied around its body and the men discussed what type of cage they would use to bring it home.

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) then made the kangaroo an honorary K9 Unit member after the rescue.
