This is the moment a drunk Russian tourist was dragged away by police in Thailand.

The holidaymaker had been downing drinks at bars in the red light district before he stumbled into the pub in 'Sin City' Pattaya on November 23.

Shocked owner Yell Yaowaluck watched in astonishment as he grunted and writhed around on the floor.

Footage shows the male backpacker, his face flushed from alcohol, twisting on the tiles then holding both legs up as he exposed his backside while baffled onlookers laughed at his antics.

He appeared unable to stand up properly and kept leaning on a table for balance.

Pattaya cops later arrived at the scene and hauled the unconscious man by his arms and legs onto the police truck. He was held in a cell to sober up before being released.

Yell said: 'This Russian man appeared to be already intoxicated or under the influence of something when he entered our restaurant. His behaviour was as shown in the video.

'I was concerned he would damage something or hurt someone, so I contacted the police to address the situation.'

Former fishing village Pattaya became popular with American troops on 'rest and relaxation' breaks in the 1960s when the U.S. military had bases in Thailand. In the ensuing years, the coastal resort spawned into a global sex-tourism capital.

The destination has also become packed with Russian tourists, who have fled to the tropical country to escape conscription amid the ongoing conflict with Ukraine, which is supported the U.S. war machine.

Embarrassed officials have made progress in gentrifying the region with family tourism projects but a ravenous nightlife industry and corrupt police have hampered their efforts, with undesirables from all nations still attracted to the seedy city.
