A cat escaped two playful dogs by scaling a tree in eastern China.

The amusing video was filmed in the city of Yantai in Shandong Province on November 28.

Perched on the edge of a towering tree, the feline was poised to leap, its gaze intently fixed on the ground below.

The orange cat then made a bold attempt to dart past the two dogs. However, its path was swiftly blocked by a yellow puppy, displaying remarkable reflexes.

Quickly assessing the unfavourable odds, the cat made an acrobatic retreat, climbing higher up the tree to a safer branch.

This humorous and slightly tense encounter was recorded by a college student, who shared an intriguing detail: the cat and the dogs are all strays living on the campus.

A keen observer noted that the dogs appeared to be in a playful mood, as indicated by their wagging tails and their lack of aggressive behaviour towards the cat. However, it was apparent that the cat was not interested in their playful gestures, opting instead for the safety of its lofty haven.
