Rescue Mission Saves Five from Floods in Rosburg, USA

In a dramatic operation, the Coast Guard successfully rescued five individuals from flooding conditions near Rosburg, Washington. Responding to a request from the Cathlament Fire Department, watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Columbia River coordinated the deployment of an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew from Coast Guard Air Station Astoria.
The rescue unfolded on Tuesday when four individuals were reported trapped in their home with rising floodwaters. The helicopter arrived promptly at 11:08 a.m., diverting to assist an individual stranded on a truck in floodwaters. The aircrew executed a daring hoist, rescuing the individual and subsequently retrieving the remaining four from the flooded house.
All five individuals were transported to Coast Guard Air Station Astoria, where they received prompt medical attention. Fortunately, everyone is reported to be in stable condition, highlighting the effectiveness and timeliness of the Coast Guard's life-saving efforts.
