STANDUP (English): SANAA KAMAL, Xinhua reporter
"Since the outbreak of the war between Hamas and Israeli army in the besieged coastal enclave, the UN (again) failed to adopt a resolution to stop the war in the coastal enclave. This pushed the Palestinians to feel that maybe the Israeli army will have more time to commit more violations against them. Until now, there is no ceasefire in Gaza and the people have incurred more losses not only in their properties and financial resources but also in their lives.
SOUNDBITE 1 (Arabic): Ramallah resident
"The U.S. is one of the countries that has the right to veto, which it always uses in favor of Israel. It has not been used for any Arab country before."
SOUNDBITE 2 (Arabic): Ramallah resident
"The U.S. always supports Israel against us. It will never stand with the Palestinian people."
SOUNDBITE 3 (Arabic): Ramallah resident
"The United States' use of its veto power against the ceasefire draft resolution in Palestine is a green light for Israel to continue its bloody massacres against the Palestinian people.
The U.S. bears legal and historical responsibility for the massacres that occur in Palestine, especially in the Gaza Strip."
Xinhua News Agency correspondents reporting from Gaza and Ramallah.
