STANDUP (English): SUN QING, Xinhua correspondent
"German manufacturing company Homag has been stationed in Songjiang, Shanghai for 30 years and has experienced tremendous development. The company continues to expand investment and increase production capacity in China, and has also established its China headquarters, three factories, sales center, and R&D center here.
Thanks to the large Chinese market, Homag China has maintained a revenue of over 1 billion yuan (139 million USD annually) in the past few years. With the advantages of German manufacturing and a localized team, this enterprise is empowering more and more Chinese furnishing companies to complete the transformation from traditional manufacturing to intelligent manufacturing. Let's take a look."

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): PETER LEGNER, CEO of HOMAG China
"Now we all three factories are here in Songjiang. This is our main workshop where we are focusing on certain products like the saws and the six-sided drilling machines. Then we have a smaller workshop here where we are focusing on machining some critical parts which are very important for our product, quality parts."

Hamag's products produced in China not only mainly serve the Chinese market, but also export to Southeast Asia, Europe and other places.

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): PETER LEGNER, CEO of HOMAG China
"We do also export, but our focus is here. China is big enough. We are very optimistic that the market will rebound strongly in the next couple of years. And we can see that the demand, as I mentioned before, the demand for high quality furniture in China is actually growing. And it's good for us.
As we are investing quite a lot in R&D, in our talents and so on, we will be also in the future playing a very important role for the further transition to fully optimized and fully automatic manufacturing of furniture in China."
