Restaurant chain in China slammed for 'vulgar' dance routines
A restaurant chain was slammed for doing vulgar' dance routines while customers ate in China.
The hot pot restaurant had bought the copyright to the song ‘Ke Mu San', which translates to ‘Subject Three', and taught their employees its steps in Liaoning province.
But the extra entertainment service seemed to have left a bad taste in their diners' mouths as some commented that the dance made them uncomfortable.
Footage shows the servers smiling while shaking their hips on their uniforms and aprons. According to critics, the movements seemed to suggest grinding one's body against another.
Restaurant representatives said on November 28 that they encouraged their staff members to ‘provide personalised service and only as long as the customers feel comfortable with it.'
The folk dance, mainly performed by young people alone or in groups, is quite common at weddings in some parts of China.
China's political system remains firmly under the control of the communist party, which upholds many traditional values and prioritizes social stability. It has historically held a conservative stance towards sexuality, often promoting traditional family values and gender roles.
