These images purport to show Russian UAVs and anti-tank guided missiles taking out Ukrainian positions near Kupiansk.

The footage reportedly shows a Russian drone being used to target a Ukrainian position, with an anti-tank guided missile system then seen being deployed.

The Russian soldier then fires a missile, reportedly hitting the Ukrainian position. The drone flies back to the Russian side as the footage ends.

The images were obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Tuesday, December 12, along with a statement claiming: 'UAV and ATGM 'Fagot' crews of the 'West' group of troops destroyed camouflaged positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kupiansk direction.'

The Russian MoD added: 'A reconnaissance drone approximately two kilometres from our positions discovered a command and observation post of Ukrainian Armed Forces militants.

'The complex with the musical name 'Bassoon' removes such goals with one note. The main thing is to work quickly - the enemy is already watching our fighters from this point.

'The enemy is also not asleep. Recorded by our reconnaissance drone. But in an attempt to plant him, he has no success. The operator knows what to do. Significant combat experience already suggests. Still, a year and a half at the special military operation zone. Constantly with copters in hands. He flies higher, under the clouds, from where he continues to observe.

'Real work is underway. Everything happens online. The operator is looking for a target. As soon as he finds it, he will transmit the coordinates to the artillery, and it will open fire.

'The drone takes off every day. And more than once. This is how information is collected: where are the enemy's positions, his command post. Our artillery delivers precision strikes strictly on command. And exclusively in places of concentration of manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.'

The statement quotes a UAV operator with the call sign 'Whiskey' as saying: 'We are looking for and observing enemy positions, the movement of their equipment. We fly at different altitudes. I raise the UAV from 100 metres to a kilometre. The distances are also different, depending on the weather - from 2 to 7 kilometres. We give coordinates to the units, the guys aim more accurately and inflict fire on the enemy - in equipment, manpower, mortar crews.'

The statement also said: 'In the drone's field of view is a militant observation post in a forest area. 800 metres to the enemy.

'The crew of the Fagot anti-tank missile system (ATGM) begins its work. He does everything quickly and clearly. But the complex itself does not fail. Reliable and shows high accuracy. As the fighters say, he has already put the enemy to flight more than once.

'The target was hit, it was an enemy observation post, everything went without incident. The enemy is so close that an accurate hit is immediately visible.

'Soldiers of anti-tank crews leave the firing position as quickly as possible so that the enemy does not have time to strike back.'

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, in what the Kremlin is still calling a 'special military operation'.
