"Look at this painting. The painters are farmers, and they depict rural life and farming. I am now in Tianbei Village of Wan'an County, east China's Jiangxi Province. This village has hosted the national farmer painting exhibition for four times. It is also an art creation base for several universities. How do the farmers' paintings contribute to rural revitalization in the village? Let's take a look."
Tianbei is famous for its farmer painters.
Fifty-four-year-old Luo Xiaoqing is one of them.

"Hello, Mr. Luo, what are you drawing?"
SOUNDBITE (Chinese): LUO XIAOQING, Farmer painter
"Hello. I'm drawing the beautiful scenery near Tianbei."
Luo is not only good at painting, but also eager to make short videos of his drawing process and share them on social media platforms.
SOUNDBITE (Chinese): LUO XIAOQING, Farmer painter
"We have been fond of painting since childhood, and there has always been a tradition of painting in our village. But at that time, we had to find work and do business to make ends meet. As my life got improved, I started painting again with some of my friends. We like to paint the life of farmers. I usually do sketches near our village and paint anything I find interesting. For example, I recently painted some beautiful houses with a fence wall made of dirt and mud. Since the implementation of rural revitalization, many villages have become more beautiful. You can see this change in some of my paintings."
In 2013, the government of Wan'an County was committed to building Tianbei Village into an integrated industrial base for farmer painters, in which people can engage in art creation, exhibition, training and selling as well as art-related tourism.
SOUNDBITE (Chinese): LIU MINGMING, Farmer painter
"I usually do murals, depicting rural revitalization. I can make about 100,000 yuan (about 13,900 U.S. dollars) annually."
STANDUP (English): CHEN YUSHAN, Xinhua correspondent
"Walking in Tianbei Village feels like strolling through a painting. Farmers' paintings are visible everywhere. The village is picturesque and tidy, and it seems that every aspect of it could be captured in a painting."
Xinhua News Agency correspondents reporting from Wan'an, Jiangxi.
