Customer discovers alleged half mouse in takeaway food in China
A customer reportedly discovered half a mouse in her takeout order of lamb hotpot in eastern China.
The disgusting video was filmed in the county of Sheyang in Jiangsu Province on December 11.
The customer shows her takeout on a table, next to several leftover bones. Among these, one piece, when moved aside with chopsticks, appeared to resemble half of a rat, complete with what seemed to be whiskers and teeth.
Responding to this alarming complaint, on December 13, the Sheyang County Market Supervision Administration issued a statement. They confirmed receiving a complaint on December 11 about a suspected mouse-like foreign object found in a lamb spine hot pot ordered from "Jin Wuye Lamb Restaurant" via a delivery platform.
The authorities immediately launched an investigation into the matter and legally filed a case against the accused restaurant. As a result, the restaurant has been temporarily closed for rectification, and its online store has been removed from the delivery platform.
The administration is currently tracing the origins of the related food materials. The alleged foreign object provided by the citizen has been securely preserved and sent to a third-party authoritative institution for identification.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
